After the end of the “grid girls” in F1, the famous NFL cheerleaders could be the next girls. All after having made public some rules, absurd to say the least, that are imposed on young women. Some of them even target the way girls perform their intimate hygiene. All with the aim of protecting them from players – say those responsible.
It all started with Bailey Davies, cheerleader for the New Orleans Saints. Like all the dancers on the team, she was forced by the rules to make her Instagram account private. Bailey followed the rule, but the worst came later. The cheerleader published a photo of herself in a swimsuit on the same social network – visible only to people authorized by her – and was fired. According to the “Saints”, the young woman broke the rule that prohibits cheerleaders from appearing publicly nude, semi-nude or in lingerie.
Bailey challenged the decision and filed a complaint against the team with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the US federal agency that preserves workers' civil rights. In the complaint, the young woman contests the different rules that are imposed on players and cheerleaders. According to Bailey, cheerleaders are prohibited from contacting players, but the opposite is no longer the case. But there are more rules, and quite controversial ones.
Buffalo Bills cheerleaders have a code of conduct that goes so far as to point out how girls should perform their intimate hygiene:
– They should not use chemicals or deodorants. You should only use soap to help maintain PH levels.
– During menstruation you need to use products suitable for the flow. A tampon that is too large can cause irritation or create fungus. A product used for a long time can breed bacteria. Products (tampons and pads) should be changed every four hours, except when sleeping.
– You must use a clean blade for waxing, because used blades can be a source of infection.
