The death toll from the pager explosions in Lebanon has risen to twelve, according to the latest figures from the Beirut government.
The simultaneous explosions of pagers belonging to elements of Hezbollah (Party of God) in Lebanon on Tuesday, blamed on Israel by the pro-Iranian Islamist group, caused the deaths of twelve people and injured 2,800, Lebanese Health Minister Firass Abiad said today.
After consulting all the hospitals, the death toll now stands at “twelve, including two children” and there are “between 2,750 and 2,800” injured, Abiad said at a press conference.
Some of the wounded from the Bekaa region (east) “have been transferred to Syria”, while “others will be transported to Iran”, where they will receive treatment.
