Incident occurred with the engine of a Ryanair Boeing 737-8AS plane.
A Ryanair plane, with 184 passengers on board, had to be evacuated this Thursday morning after a fire in one of the aircraft's engines at Brindisi Airport, in southern Italy.
According to Corriere della Sera, the passengers, who were leaving for Turin, had to abandon the plane using the emergency slides.
"Flight FR8826 from Brindisi to Turin was delayed this morning after cabin crew observed smoke outside the plane. Passengers were disembarked without incident and returned to the bus terminal," the airline said in a statement, asking Apologies to everyone affected.
The flight, from Brindisi to Turin, was operated by another plane.
Nobody was injured.
