Mbappé Investigated For Rape, Says Swedish Press

The Swedish authorities have opened a formal investigation into Kylian Mbappé, a player considered to be “suspected” of rape, according to reports in the Expressen newspaper early on Tuesday morning.

The episode took place on Wednesday night, when the Real Madrid player took advantage of not having been called up by the Swedish national team to travel to Stockholm, where he was seen in the company of Nordi Mukiele, from Bayer Leverkusen, at a restaurant and a bar.

From there, the forward went to the Bank Hotel, in the city center, where, on Monday, the police carried out searches and even confiscated a pair of underpants, black pants and a black sweater, adds the publication.

Kylian Mbappé has since publicly distanced himself from the case, guaranteeing that it's all just “fake news”. However, it seems that he himself will be viewed by investigators as “reasonably suspicious”.

The prosecutor, Marina Chirakova, has already confirmed receipt of a sexual assault report, but refused to confirm the identity of the people involved. As for the hotel, it has chosen to remain silent about what happened.

“There is no one here at the hotel who has any information to give. It's entirely up to the police and their investigation. We have no comments to make or information to share,” an employee told this newspaper.
