Modric like Cristiano Ronaldo. Doesn't Think About Retirement And Wants The World Cup

Many thought that the one-all draw against Italy last June, which saw Croatia eliminated from the group stage of the European Championship, would be Luka Modric's last game in major international competitions.

However, at 39 years of age, the midfielder has no intention of 'hanging up his boots', so much so that, according to Spanish newspaper Marca, he is fully committed to playing in the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States of America, Mexico and Canada.

Despite his age, the 'veteran' believes he is fully capable of continuing to play at the highest level, preferably for Real Madrid, the club with which he recently renewed his contract until June 2025.

The publication writes that the Croatian international has already set his sights on... another contract, valid for another season, in a similar position to that adopted by his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, now with Al Nassr.
