This Tuesday, Spanish soccer is mourning the death of Gonzalo Gómez Sáenz-López, the 34-year-old goalkeeper who didn't survive a serious illness that led to him being hospitalized in recent days.
The news was shared on social media by SD Logroñés, a club that plays in the Segunda RFEF (the fourth tier of football in the neighboring country), and where he trained, going on to a career with teams such as Náxara and Clahorra.
The player's funeral will take place from 6pm (mainland Portugal time) on Wednesday at the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de Valvanera, in Logroño, in the autonomous community of Rioja, where he was born.
Descansa en paz, Gonzalo.
