Those who say this are sources close to the company, who however state that the movement of the Optimus robots was operated by AI.
Tesla's We, Robot event took place last week, where the company presented not only new vehicles equipped with autonomous driving, but also a humanoid robot controlled by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Those who attended the event had the opportunity to interact with these robots, which were able to speak and even serve drinks.
However, some publications such as Bloomberg and the website The Verge reported that these robots were being operated remotely by humans who, in addition to controlling their movements, also talked to those present. Adam Jonas, an analyst at Morgan Stanley, still claims that robots were dependent on human intervention to function.
Sources close to Tesla even claim that the robots were able to move around the event space using AI, noting however that the interactions were managed by company workers.
Even though Tesla sought to offer a glimpse of what will be possible in the future with further advances in the areas of robotics and AI, it seems that investors were not convinced and there was a drop in the value of the shares of the company led by Elon Musk.
