Ben Yedder Sentenced To Two Years In Prison With Suspended Sentence

This Tuesday, the Nice Criminal Court sentenced Wissam Ben Yedder to two years in prison, with a suspended sentence, as it found him guilty of committing an act of sexual assault under the influence of alcohol last September.

According to information provided by French television station RMC Sport, the 34-year-old (who did not choose not to appear in court) was also forced to compensate the alleged victim to the tune of 6,500 euros (5,000 euros in moral damages and the remaining 1,500 euros in legal costs).

The striker (who has been free since the summer, when his contract with Monaco ended) was also fined 5,000 euros and banned from driving for six months for refusing to comply with the authorities' orders.

The case arose after a 23-year-old woman filed a complaint against the Gaulish international, accusing him of an episode that allegedly took place in his car, for which he was arrested a few days later.

Wissam Ben Yedder is still in the 'sights' of the French justice system due to a case that dates back to the summer of 2023 and is still under investigation, in which he is suspected of raping another woman during a party.
