Prince Harry caused some suspicion among fans when he was spotted visiting a tattoo studio in New York in September. Now, the Duke of Sussex has set the record straight.
The truth is that it was all just a joke made up for a comedy sketch, which will be broadcast at the next Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025.
It all starts when Prince Harry meets singer Jelly Roll at the East Side Ink studio on the Lower East Side. The two chat about the Invictus Games, until Roll tells him he's there to tattoo him.
“No, no, no. I came here to ask you to take part in the Invictus Games. Nobody told me about a tattoo,” said the prince.
“I'll make you a deal,” replied Roll. “You let me give you a tattoo and I'll take part in the Invictus Games.”
“Okay, what the hell. Let's do it,” relented the Duke of Sussex.
Straight away, the American rapper said he was going to tattoo Harry's neck, but the prince asked for it to be on his lower back or... his butt.
“Are you kidding? No one will see your butt! This is for the world,” objected Jelly Roll.
And soon after, the rapper started tattooing the prince... But it was all just a joke.
Although the Duke didn't get a real tattoo, he wouldn't be the first member of royalty to get one. Princess Eugenie, Harry's cousin, has a small circular design behind her left ear.
