Diddy Will Remain in Prison. Judge Denies Rapper's Third Bail Request

Sean 'Diddy' Combs will remain in prison as the judge rejected his third - and most recent - attempt to get out on bail (which would have been $50 million, around 46 million euros).

Justice Arun Subramanian's decision came after a two-hour hearing, which took place last Friday (November 22).

"The court concludes that the government has demonstrated, by clear and convincing evidence, that no condition or combination of conditions will reasonably ensure the safety of the community," the judge wrote.

So, from the court's perspective, there is a possibility that Diddy could interfere with the investigation if he gets out of prison. This is because, even though he is in prison, the rapper represents a danger to the women who reported him, having sought to influence witnesses, reports CNN.

The artist even tried to contact three witnesses to the arrest and create a campaign on social media around his birthday in order to influence the eventual decision of the trial.

Diddy's lawyers mentioned that if he got out of prison he would stay in an apartment in Manhattan, New York, surrounded by security guards 24 hours a day, and visits and phone calls would be monitored, just like in the New York Metropolitan Center, where he is now. . However, the suggestion was rejected by the judge, who saw no conditions in the proposals presented. The possibility of the rapper staying at his home in Miami was also raised, something immediately denied.

It is worth remembering that the hip-hop artist was arrested in September on charges of sex trafficking, extortion and encouraging prostitution rings. The trial is scheduled for May 5, 2025.
