'Blackout' At Meta. Facebook, Instagram And WhatsApp Had Problems

If you tried to consult some of the main social networks this Wednesday afternoon, you probably had some difficulties. This is the case of Facebook, its messaging service, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp, whose normal functioning is compromised.

According to the website DownDetector, at the time of publishing this article, the operation of these Meta services appeared to be experiencing technical difficulties on a global level.

The first problems began to be reported, above all, after 5:30 pm, on Facebook, mainly on the app, accounting for, an hour later, more than 97 thousand complaints.

At the same time, Instagram registered 67 thousand complaints on the platform and WhatsApp had close to 10 thousand.

All applications with problems are owned by Meta, led by Mark Zuckerberg, who assured that he is working to return services to normal as quickly as possible and apologized to users for the inconvenience caused.

"We are aware that a technical problem is affecting the ability of some users to access our applications," said an official Meta source, in response to Lusa.
