Parents of Students Spend 2 Thousand Dollars on Medical Treatments for... Chicken

Waffles, a five-month-old chicken, was already an inevitable and much-loved figure at school. Recently, the hen suffered complications during the egg production phase and had to be rushed to hospital.

Despite doing everything they could to save the animal, Waffles ended up not surviving.

"It was a morning of many tears," said the teacher, in the wake of the chicken's death on Wednesday.

The parents and teachers also felt like crying, as they paid 2 thousand dollars [1,855 euros] to try to save the bird.
